Hello, been trying to get the engine to fire sand run briefly by chucking a little fuel down the hole exposed by removing the air filter and found that the throttle spindle seeps fuel on the radiator side of the carb.Is this because of how im introducing the fuel or do i need an oversized spindle?Looking at the Moss catalogue i dont think ive not got the bearing on the spindle.Would that stop fuel exiting from here?

Cheers in advance.

Don't worry about it - the air ingress there is tiny. Just get the engine running !

Ok, well it finally ran for a second which is ok by me considering the miniscule amount of fuel i could get in there but at least i kn ow it'll run....should be ok for when the fuel tanks been cleaned and ive got the new fuel line on.Hopefully the fuel pump will be ok.**crosses fingers**

Just run an emery board through between the points! You can rig a temporary fuel supply from a gallon can - with a flexi pipe from the pump intake - or even just a gravity feed to the carb........

Fill the float chamber will petrol and that should be enough to run the engine for a minute or two.
