Did the petrol filler caps change over the years are are they all the same?

Thanks for the advice, I lost the one on ebay but have now found one in my box of bits. Don't think the one fitted to the car is the original as it is a very tight fit. Anyone got a photo showing how the chain attaches?

Dont have a photo but isnt there a little lug in the pipe that folds over the chain.
