You need metric wheel studs and wheel nuts to suit - midland wheel supplies have everything you need. I also needed 5mm spacers on the front hubs.

They are only the thinest of spacers! Don't worry about that. Triumph wheels generally fit - not Stag! You are looking for 3.75" PCD.

i thought the pcd was 4"inch

4" inch is the Minor Standard PCD

montego wheels will fit but you will need the spacers / different studs as with MGF alloys. i have fitted mgf space savers which are apparently the montego steel wheels.

Montego were 185s (or wider on the sporty ones). I think some of the Maestro were the same PCD, but maybe not 14".
Both now becoming rare cars, so much less easy to find.

That's the snag - they are all 13" as standard- although some have aftermarket 14" fitted - like my TR7! The MGF wheels are by far the best bet.

as you may guess iam new to all this. so the wheels are from rover cars, ie, the 25 , 45, 75, etc,

No - I think they are all metric - won't fit. The MGF is basically two Metro subframes fitted into the sports shell - so the running gear harps back to the Metro - which had 3.75" pcd wheels!
These will probably fit - but are 16" and so perhaps a bit too large - the earlier 15" wheels are really what you want! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MGF-MGTF-Maestro- ... 2a03357cf5

These are better - but the tyres have had it. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MGF-VVC-Wheels-x- ... 23043b6a0c
And these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MG-F-MGF-SET-OF-F ... 3a55a73a50 there are many more!

metro was never 3.75" BMC :s

Montego steels are identical to MGF space savers and fit perfectly well (I have 2mm spacers behind my front wheels - but they do clear without)

Quite a few people have fitted the MGF wheels, but you could get the hubs redrilled to 4x108 and fit an escort rear axle, then there is a much better choice of wheels avaliable

Later Metro IS 3.75" pcd! Only the early cars can supply the drive flanges etc suitable for use on Minis with Fiesta brakes

mgf space savers are 14" by the way, mine cost less than 20 each and all were in perfect condition so only needed a light rub down before painting and the tyres had so much tread left it looks like they have done little if any mileage.
