1098 recon bottom end

one of my customers has just bought a 55 split and it could do with a fresh bottom end. It has a later 1098 in already.

I could rebuild it for him, but I would rather buy one from a good supplier at a sensible price and make a small job of it. Would be cheaper for the customer as well.

Any suggestions where to go. I keep being told core units are the problem, then I say well I've got a spare that you can have to use as the core unit they then tell me the price on the internet is out of date and should be .........

Suggestions please.

DIY - rebore by your local machine shop, exchange crank from BM and a set of pistons and thrusts. Oil pumps, gaskets, core plugs - everything is available and you wont spend nearly as much as youve been quoted and should have a little left for some profit.
I am just in the middle of doing the same but tweaking a little at the same time
