That's about the only thing that's more accessible on a Beetle than a Minor (Though I have to give credit, the Beetle was superbly finished).

Seems a bit dangerous to me - and the belt looks too loose, but then it's not driving a waterpump and a fan - just the dynamo.

It does drive a fan

If I tried that , it would.....straight through the radiator!It does drive a fan
(on a Moggy not a Beetle)
