TheOthers Colours on a Snowberry White Tourer

This is my first post after both joining the MMOC and acquiring my first Minor, Betsy, an April 1968 Snowberry White Tourer, in August.

Betsy has black trim and a black (non-original) hood (the Heritage certificate states Cherokee Red and Peal Grey respectively, but that doesn't worry me: I gather from Ray Newell's 'Original Morris Minor' that the official records are not always reliable for these later convertibles.

I am rather more concerned about her present white wheels and double blue coachline. My understanding is that the wheels would have originally been dark silver and the coach line a single red line in red. Am I correct, and is there a paint code for these two colours (or at least a very near match)?

Any help and guidance much appreciated.

Welcome to the messageboard :D Not sure if there's a paintcode for the pinstripe but there's a thread here regarding a close match for the silver wheel paint: http://www.morrisminoroc.co.uk/index.ph ... ic&t=29056

what is the problem with the colour scheme? are you looking to enter concours where these things matter.. for me if you like the colours just enjoy it.. if you do not like the colours just paint them a different colour that you think looks nice ( I own a lilac convertible in case you are wondering and my trafalger blue traveller has non standard white wheels..)

I probably wouldn't have even thought about the colour scheme, but for the fact that she needs a little paintwork done after a few repairs, which got me thinking... and the one thing that I decided that I did not like was the blue double coachline. As for the wheels I haven't decided whether to keep them white or whether to return them to dark silver. It's not that I am looking to enter concours, it's just that I like the idea of returning her to original spec. There is probably some deep seated psychological reason for this, but I am not sure that I want to go there - at least not yet.

It rather depends on how the blue coachline on your car is done. If it is a paper line this can be carefully removed. If is a paint line it will need re-painting of course. The paper pinstriping can be bought off Ebay for about £2/3 a roll. It works like double sided tape.
