Modified Boot Lid

These were manufactured by Alexander Engineering, Ltd., of Haddenham, Buckinghamshire (not sure when) to double the boot space. Has anyone ever seen one? Actually on the car? Has anyone got one on their car?
Apparently some people think it improves the look

A bit of googling has found the following on the company itself - it would appear that , in their defence, they did more than just bootlids...

You can also make more space under the boot floor, on the LH side.....cut out a flap approx 45cm square and hinge it on the metal bar on the back of the back seat.

I can't say I'm fussed but I'd have it just to be different. But the my new car cover wouldn't fit
Must say the crossflow head they cam up with was impressive

I saw one on a white convertible that I went to look at many years ago. It was made out of fibreglass and I must say that it didn't do anything for the looks of the car. The car itself was not up to much and the owner was trying it on despite me turning up in my Series MM which should have given me a psychological advantage. Needless to say I did not buy it.
If the car was worth buying then it would have made an interesting curiosity although I would have fitted a normal boot lid most of the time

One turned up on ebay a year or two back now, probably the same one which was on the white convertible. It got quite a bit of interest if I remember right. I did toy with the idea of getting it and making a mould of it, but doubted what the potential market might be for them....
