Thermostat housing question

Wondering if there is different configurations of thermostat housings? Are there any available where the outlet comes off at a different angle?
On the 1275 engine in our car, the mounting holes are in a different location than on a spare 1100 engine. (as shown in the workshop manual, page AA.20.)
Instead of the outlet pointing slightly forward, on the 1275 it points slightly backwards, which necessitates a hose with an ess bend in it to connect to the rad.
I checked the parts vendors websites, but only see one style of housing.
Maybe from a different car which uses the A series engine?
Can supply pics if needed.
Bewildered in Canada.

Yes there are. For the 1275 engine, to get the outlet pipe pointing more forward, you need an MGB thermostat housing.

Birmingham MMC do a 1275/1098 conversion thermostat housing. I have one and it does what it says on the tin.

Thanks for the info.
I ordered a used one from MG Breakers, 5 pounds and 3 pounds for postage.
FWIW, I don't think my 'puter has the wiggly L pound symbol thingy, or if it does, I don't know where to find it.

to get a £ sign on a non uk keyboard make sure numberlock is on then hold down the alt key then press 156 on the numberpad on the right not the main keyboard, release the alt key and bravo there you are, I use the same function to get the © symbol (alt 0169) when writing webpages.
Everyone with an amstrad PC in the early days knew about alt 156 as it didn't have a £ sign on the keyboard making writing bills and estimates a challenge till you knew how to do it
For the full list see here

Hope that helps
