The Haynes is ok - usually just a few pounds on e-bay.
It's best when supplemented with an owners manual which gives good guidelines on maintenance.
A Haynes manual plus a bit of aptitude gets the job done, but some of the other manuals are better, and may cover more of the renovation tasks instead of just standard repairs.
I expect the others will recommend some good ones.

If you are familiar with the names of specific componants of the car a Haynes will do. However I have always found the illustrations are poor reproductions and the photos usually worse than useless.
You cannot beat a BMC workshop manual for clarity of illustrations - the only drawback is that it can be a bit awkward to refer to in comparison to the more compact Haynes book.

Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.
