what wires do what i have 2 white wires,1 white and red wire and 1 blue and brown wire on the ignition column switch

White and red is the starter solenoid.
Brown & blue live feed from voltage regulator.
White (1) Ignition Warning Light.
White (2) To fuse box for ignition switched circuits (fused & unfused) such as coil, fuel pump, instruments, wipers, heater motor, etc.

does it matter which white wire goes to which one

All wires of same colour are connected together - that's the basis of the colour scheme! So any one will do!
