Hmmm, rusty nuts & bolts indicate that its not nice, shiney and new
Also, shouldn't the box say "silver seal"

The rusty nuts and bolts might be because its a 30 year old recon box, but I can understand the reluctance

Yes, but surely they would have been painted? therefore they would not have gone rusty?

I've got a 30 yr old gold seal recon box and it doesn't have rusty nuts..... and it is GOLD !!!

My betting is that the Gold seal gearbox was taken out of the crate - fitted to a Minor (many years ago no doubt) - the old gearbox was put in the crate ready to be sent back - and never went! So - I suspect someone has paid a very high price (£170) for a worn-out gearbox!

Mind you someone went over the top with the cleaning, if it was going back, either that or they were very thoughtful!
