As above. Anyone in the Chelmsford area that could have a look at a car for me?

Thanks.

In that case I may be able to assist as my sister lives in Chelmsford :D I was there on Sunday but could go back again at the weekend as it's not that far from me. Happy to take a look for you if no-one else volunteers to do so before the weekend.

:) :) :) The seller is phoning me back later so will ask when someone can look at the car. Weekend is best for you I guess Louise?

Sunday is probably better as I have a dentist appointment on Saturday :(

I THINK the seller owns a garage. But not sure whether he's selling it through his garage or privately. Do you know of Telchristie Car Sales?

He just phoned me and will take some photos tomorrow. If I'm still interesed he will take the car out of its 'winter storage' and take it to his house where it can be viewed. I'll have to phone him back and arrange a day.

P.S. hope everything goes ok at the dentist.

See http://www.telchristiecarsales.co.uk/28 ... d-cars.htm
which suggests that it is a trade sale and should therefore have appropriate warranty. The address is given as

Telchristie Car Sales
55 Belvedere
Danbury
Chelmsford
Essex
CM3 4RD

which is in a residential estate. I have no knowledge of the firm. With a "recent respray" Louise could use a magnet to check for filler  I stress that that is light-hearted comment, not intended as criticism of the firm. As a positive comment, I haven't heard anything negative about them, and there is no sign of poor comment on the web. Just sorry that I'm not in a position to go looking for you at the moment.

I've done that. Magnet wrapped up in a cloth. The Owner wasn't impressed

Just noticed that the car I'm looking at has overriders on the back but not the front. Weird :-?

Even though I've had comments of "are you sure you're not just throwing money away (again)" and "why don't you just get a NORMAL car" I just couldn't live without a minor :)

I've climbed a steep learning curve with Tim and I now know what to look for and what to avoid.

Know how you feel. Normal cars are ok - so long as you have a Minor as well

My attitude has been if I had got a 'normal' car I would have paid more in insurance alone than for my car and the insurance. So I haven't lost that much really.
