Indicator stalk wiring colours
Can anyone out there help me-having an electrical issue
I am trying to connect the wires from my new indicator stalk to the wires below the glove box.
I have 6 wires coming from the stalk and it seems like there are 7 poossibilities.
I have a pink wire from the car which I think is the horn so where does that go to and also a black and a brown/black wire from the stalk and cannot work out where to join them to.
I pressume all other colours just go to the same colour in the car-2 green/red to the green/red on the stalk and 2 green and white to the green/white on the stalk.
I have read the wiring diagram and cannot work it all out.
Thanks,Paddypants

The switch on that car should really only switch the indicators (no other functions) - so should have green/brown wire IN - and green/red and green white OUT. And a light green wire to feed the little green light on the end of the switch - and very probably a black wire to earth the lamp. The 'lilac' I mentioned is 'purple' on Barry's diagram - but it goes to the horn button and not to the indicator switch.

Yes it is.
I have managed to sort the lilac/Blk lead-quite right it was the horn.
Only lead still not connected is the black lead and not sure where to put it.There is a lead at the back which is solit-lilac and black and the black has a double connector so it may go in there?
I have connected the 2 green/red in car to the green/red from the stalk and done the same with the green and white.
Still no joy with the indicators-it must be a faulty stalk or something else? Checked the 2 fuses in the front left of engine and both okay-are there any more fuses anywhere else?
Thanks for you help,

There should be a power feed to the stalk - the green/brown wire in Barry's diagram - comes from the flasher unit - which is fed from the ignition switched fuse by a dark green wire. So - first check - is the flasher unit present under the bonnet - does it have a dark green feed and a green/brown wire connected - and the light green wire should be on the middle terminal of the flasher unit. If all present -are they 'live' when the ignition is ON ? And if so - is the green/brown wire still 'live' inside the car - where it needs to connect to the flasher switch!

All black wires should be earth wires which are connected to the car body or to another black wire.
Turn the ignition on then check the green wire on the B terminal of the flasher with a test light between the wire and the battery earth terminal. If that is working then check that the green and brown wire which comes from the L terminal is live at the indicator stalk.
From the indicator stalk the light green wire goes to the P terminal and powers the light in the end of the stalk and you are left with a green/white wire for the RH indicator bulbs and a green/red wire for the LH indicator bulbs

With the ignition on, check the fuse. If the wipers are working the fuse is OK.
Check the feed to the B terminal of the flasher.
If that is OK then disconnect the green wire and green/brown wire and connect them together. This will give you a live feed to the indicator switch, by-passing the flasher. When you indicate the indicators should light without flashing. Reconnect the wires to the flasher. If still no indicators then you need a new flasher.
