Christmas TV ads

I saw my first Christmas ad on TV in Poland today......bah!!!!! November 4th!!!!!!!!!!!!
When I came fifteen years ago, there were hardly any, and they didn't start until a couple of weeks before the big event. This enamoured me to the country.....it was so nice to get away from the bombardment I had become used to in the UK.
Is nothing sacred anymore? Does everything have to come down to the ruthless and relentless commercial exploitation of anything which sparks an emotion in the human race?
I'd better stop now......I've just noticed that I'm grinding my teeth!

well done Mick, I'm glad you noticed this, I'm sick of seeing too much christmas stuff to early, I'm particularly annoyed about anything about christmas before remembrance day.. Can't we let the last bugle note fade before the sound of santas slay bells fill the air. I absolutley love christmas and everything associated with it. Just not before remembrance day.

Another thing for my "things I must do before I croak" list.......good grief, it's too long to fit into a stocking, now!
Start a movement, urging folk to buy their presents and festive food and stuff during the year. Then, as soon as the first Christmas ad hits the screen..............STOP BUYING.
ANYTHING!
And turn the TV off until "The Wizard of Oz" or "Wonderful Life" are scheduled!!!!!!
That'd teach 'em!
And never forget....life COULD be a dream! It's up to us!

I've just about managed to prevent the playing of the Christmas CD at work - my colleagues wanted to start up with the festivities in October, before Halloween!

I keep telling my wife the reason I buy her presents on the 24th Dec is because it takes me that long to decide exactly what to get her and buying them before would show a total lack of thought ;)

I always look forward to the great escape, I can recite it backwards by now and I have it on DVD, sad I know but one thing I enjoy over the festive period.

Not sad at all

. I have had a VHS cpoy for years and plan to watch it this Christmas (Which I haven't done for years). It was always the joke that it was on every Christmas but the real joke is some of the utter cr*p that has taken its place.
