5 Capitals UK/Ireland rally!

I know we have some great owners on here, and many are not averse to actually using their cars for more than short journeys and/or going on holiday with them. (JOGLE, MOT, LEO, Roses runs, MOT UK etc..)
Therefore I'm throwing down the gauntlet to you to see if anyone here (other than myself) is going to join the event:
It's July 2010, and has a very good reputation, is family friendy - and for those like me who've been promising themself an Irish jaunt, that's all part of the event

Good evening.
They say two minds think alike.
I have just sent Julian an email about this event saying although I can't make all of the trip with the group I am sending a letter to my local Police Forces accross Sth. Wales to ask their permission for me to give a Police escort using my Morris Panda. It is hoped that I can escort you to Cardiff where our Sth. Wales branch will be arrangeing somekind of event to welcome you and then escort you to St. Davids. As soon as I get more feedback I will be able to let others know.
From Santadawes.

Would love to, but the 2010 MOT-UK is in July, and LEO in August.

Hmm, the only one of those I've not (yet) visited in a Minor is Cardiff. Sounds interesting and I wish the participants well, but from my own experience big cities are not the most fun places to visit on a classic car rally. [memories of trying unsuccessfully to keep a convoy together while lost in busy traffic]
Also it seems a shame to pay the quite high ferry fee to take your car across to Ireland and not see more of it, particularly the more scenic parts over in the west.

Let us know your Irish plans when finalised and i'll flag it to the IMMOC members. I'm sure we can sort something out this end ???

It is hoped that I will be leading the convoy through the city at a very steady pace. With a bit of luck the Sth. Wales Police might even be on duty to help us through some traffic lights and junctions.
