MGF Wheels

Hi All,
I was messing around fitting my MGF wheels to my Morris. I ahve changes the studs to MGF studs and ordered the correct wheel nuts.
The rear wheels are fine but the fronts need a spacer as the tyre sits about 1mm from the front upright. Question is what width of wheel spacer should I go for and the universal fit ones don't seem to suit the 3.75pcd of the MGF wheel. They are inlikely to be available off the shelf in Inverness so I will have to pay for postage and just want to try and make sure I order the correct width and type.
I have inclued a few pics as I think the wheel look quite good (shame about the rest of the car).

It's a huge improvement Jeff!
I would say fit 1/4" spacers if the studs are long enough to still give a full thread on the nuts ? The universal spacers should fit ? They usually have slots in them ?

When i had the 15" wheels on the front, i had 3mm spacers. In the time these were fitted i had no contact with the upright. But, you should easily fit 5mm on there with no worries about thread on the studs.
I had to file down the spacers to make them fit. Do it slowly and its fine.

Thanks everyone, I have some spacers which I will try but they need a bit of drilling/filing out but they were cheap enough to mess up so I will let you know how I get on and post some pics when "swmbo" and the rain let me out to play once more.

OK guys, I tried the spacers and wheels today and all seems ok after some filing of the holes in the spacers. The spacers are 5mm which gives me 5/6mm clearance from the suspension upright but when I take the car off the stands and the weight goes onto the wheels will 5mm really be enough clearance? Apologies if I am thinking too much as Callyspoy used 3mm but it doesn't seem to be a very big gap to me?

I used 3mm spacers on my ragtop for years,with no trouble at all.
