Hi, welcome to the site, and don't forget to look at the "new member?" thread at the top of this forum. Nice looking car you have there, and you've come to the right place for advice :D Just post your questions in the most appropriate forum eg mechanical for the brake and running problems, and you'll be guaranteed a quick response.

Welcome to the Forum - and congrats on the car.
If it's an 803 cc engine - it WILL be gutless!
Brakes - well you will need to get the wheels off and inspect each one by taking the drums off - they may simply be adjusted up too tight - but more likely some of the brake cylinders are sticking ON - causing the binding, and general poor/dangerous braking. Since this is a Safety Critical item - if you don't know what to do to fix it- you will need to enroll help. Meantime - if the brakes are not working properly - I suggest you shouldn't drive it!
