Wiper Motor is very slow.
I've noticed that the wipers on KAS are very very slow, or slow in comparision to ENI 638 anyway. I presume its a problem so if need be how do I replace the wiper motor ? Where is it to be found and how do I go about swaping it ?

The wiper motor is under the bonnet on the passenger side inner wing.
The motor may not be at fault it could be the wiper rack seizing. if you remove the wiper arms take the gear cover off the motor & disconnect the rack cable, you should then be able to pull it out for cleaning & greasing which should improve things

The wiper motor is bolted onto the n/s wheel arch at the back of the engine compartment. Mark the position of the circular top as this controls the position of the self park. Undo the four small bolts holding the lid on and lift off the lid, the inside should be packed with fresh grease. If it is not then clean it out and re pack it. Disconnect the wiper rack from the crank and push the rack back and forwards to check that it is moving freely. Whilst the rack is disconnected run the wiper motor briefly to see if there is any improvement in the operation. If not then it may be necessary to replace the motor brushes. If so come back for more help

Iam suprised it has not actually packed up.
How many people have actually thought of taking the top cover off from the wiper motor clear the old solid grease out then put fresh grease in. it is such a simple job.
I did this and my wipers move quicker now

I own a 1974 MG Midget 1275 in Teal Blue "Midget" is what we call him and he is in very good to excellant condition "midget" is a Chrome bumper/Round Wheel arch model.
It's also worth checking the blades and cleaning the screen with toothpaste (yes, really). Old blades and a dirty screen can bind and slow the motor. Toothpaste is a very mild abrasive that cleans the glass beautifully. Use a cloth with circular motions and then rinse well with clean water. Much better than some proprietary screen cleaning potions.

Cheers guys. I hope to get some time to play with the car again later this week, probably on Wednesday, so I'll have a fiddle and see how I get on. Love the toothpaste idea. Never would have thought of that.

I didn't try the toothpaste yet but I will get around to it. I had some spare wiper arms in the shed so I changed them over, plus one spare wiper blade and it did indeed make a difference. I'm getting my other car back from a service tomorrow so I'll compare the speeds, but it has made an improvement.
As an aside, it appears that the original wipers have cut two nice scratches on the drivers side of the windscreen. Is there a way of getting these polished out or is a case of a new windscreen ???
