Gaydon Heritage Reading Room

I notice now that you can read through the factory archives in the "Reading Room" at the Heritage Centre.
Just wondered if anyone has done this and what kind of info is available for you to view?

Fantastic info - all you need is a chassis number, you can look up all its details - from it's first day it's build number, and spec. to the final inspection and when it was loaded for transportation to the dealer. In some cases it even states which dealer. I spent a whole day there doing some of the research for Jon Pressnell's book The Official Photo Album. The staff are very friendly. You can have the original logs out one at a time, so you can see the paint codes and the trim sheets.

Very useful if you are tryng to put your car back to original.

Thanks Lou - That is what I had hoped for :-)
I'm trying to get info on my LCV Trav to find out when / where is was converted so this might help me.
Do you know if there is a charge for the service?

Not that I know of - Jon organised my visit - so I was able to have all the books I required out at the same time so I could compare body style with interior trim. The books are large 2' long in some cases and all handwritten. I suggest you give them a ring first.
