i was at a show on sunday at the National Museum of Flight - Magnificent Machines Event , was a good wee show with lots to see got a look at and in
concord
not a lot of morris minors but i did see this very tidy van and it had a surprise under the bonnet .

andy has been working on his van for the best part of 10 years it was going to get a twin cam but he put in this 1.8 diesel out an FSO and over the next few months now he knows it all fits and workes a turbo vertion will find its way in .
at the moment 70 mph is no problem and it is returning 60 mpg
not bad ...
a few more from the show ..

very nice, what I wonder is how no one ever fitted the Toyota 1.5TD many cars run with the over here, quite powerful, I was goin to do it to my 4dr in the past but being a student was going to break my budget!

Thats a really smart conversion the engine looks well at home in there (hang on just looking around for purist sobbing in corners). Top notch job, any idea what it's like for interior noise levels?

I chased the black Pick-up home - it lost one of its' rear mudguards right in front of me at XX mph on the City Bypass - fortunately it bounced off to the side and I missed it! Do you know what engine was in the Pickup? Looked very unusual - and gave off ominous puffs of smoke at each gearchange on the bypass! I did notice the diesel installation - very tidy job!

the engine in the black pickup looks very much like a fiat twin cam you can just make out the other cam wheel beind the top hose

it is a twin cam .

all 2lt s of it running a 5 speed box with an arbath quick shift to a ford rear end with a 4.2 diff .
not the ideal diff for long runs but makes up for it in other ways
just ask BMC ...

sorry about that

it was the next day i saw it was missing a wing
wondered when it had came off as i had no idea it had gone.
good job it went left.
it is getting a make over we started the strip down today
pic up soon ...
you will need to PM me with the speed it was doing
on the way up i was in convoy with 34 others cars all part of the scottish modifiers club and all i will say is that it was the fastest convoy i have ever done (well use to the 6 minors doing 55/60 )
much fun ......
