........post a photo of the handbrake without the seats & carpet in place please? I'm interested in exactly how/where it's mounted to the transmission tunnel.

Mine was bodged a few years ago during welding repairs, and the handbrake is at a slight angle off centre towards the passenger side, such that one brushes ones hand against the passengers leg as one applies/release the handbrake. Not all passengers appreciate this
