hello
i have searched the site and cannot find information on torn vinyl anywhere. i have got a couple of rips of about 3 inches in my back seat and a couple of little ones else where. what is the best way to fix it. The vinyl repair kit i found online looked very complicated with colour matching etc..i had in mind more of a tape!

You can mend the vinyl rips with something strong like gaffa tape. If you can take the seat out of the car it helps - if not - tip up the seat. Underneath the vinyl is held onto the frame with little metal clips - they may seem a bit rusty. V. carefully lever these off (a flat bladed knife can help but watch you hands/eyes!!) Take photos of every move so you can see how to put it all back together. Now you will need someone to help you.

One person holds the base of the seat the other gentally pulls off the back seat cover upwards - I suggest a side to side movement Once the vinyl is off the seat frame you can turn it inside out and mend, either by sewing the seams back together or using tape across rips.

Assembly is the reverse.
