Mixture Setting

Post by DuncanBeaumont »

Reading various threads about setting the mixture.

Two turns down - does that mean screwing the adjuster nut all the way UP and then screwing it two complete turns (720 degrees) down?

I think my mixture is rich, I can push the choke in almost straight away after a cold start. That is the reason I think it needs adjusting.

Yes - that's the idea - but it's just a starting point and the 'two turns down' means nothing in itself!

Don't worry about how quickly you can push the choke in. Warm the engine up to running temperature and adjust the mixture a flat at a time until you have the fastest, smoothest tickover.
