I would suggest that you contact the Surrey and Hants Border Branch who used to run the event for advise.

Too early to commit, but yes in principle we'd be up for it.

As an aside, a fellow runner at my running club has just done the London-Brighton run. And I mean RUN. 56 miles in 11 hrs something or other.

Awesome. But then this is the guy who does the Comrades Marathon in SA. That's 56 miles in African heat.....

Yes, we'd be up for that. :D

I always used to do the London-to-Brighton run and do miss the event.

Me too :)
I miss the London-to-Brighton run
Might be able to entice another couple of Minor owners to come too.

If I remember correctly, the main reason for the demise of this event was a problem with using Madeira Drive. But if this can be overcome ............

As a relative newcomer to the MMOC, you can count me in, this would probably be the longest journey I have made in my newly aquired car, especially if it is a nice scenic route. I think it's great to see people's heads turn when they see these classics on the road.

Depending on my shifts I may well be up for another run to Brighton. Hopefully a bit later in the year than March.

As well as the MM one, this is another I have enjoyed.

The problem with the original runs was that Brighton City Council insisted on supplying their own marshalls for Maderia Drive and charging a fortune for the priviledge.
Brighton is well wrapped up as far as casual parking is concerned and the traffic wardens are not known for their sympathetic approach to illegal parking.

Maybe a month or two later? I have memories of it being very cold on Madeira Drive... :o Devil's Dyke sounds good to me.

Maybe a month or two later?
How about 'Drive It Day' on Sunday 25th April?

I will definitely go along. "Drive It Day" is a good idea, the only thing is it may well clash with other driving rallies which people might like to go to.

Was looking at Google photo's of Devil's Dyke today, and to be honest I had never heard of it, but what a fantastic site incredible views and from what I have read it has all the facilities, refreshments, loo's etc and the parking's free . Looks like a great finishing point to me,

an informal run out would be good now I have the moggy running. It's done 4miles in the last year so I need an excuse to give it a run out.
