Thank you, this answers a question from an earlier post, it confirms the gearbox I have is 1275, as this number is stamped on the shaft!

But I can't see a reverse switch!! Maybe the remote is from a 1098.

Not all 1275 boxes had reverse switches. Post 69 rings a bell.

What's the part number for a 1st motion shaft for the normal 1098 gearbox ? In other words - are you sure that 229 shaft is unique to the 1275 box ?
