How much fuel pressure should a Minor 1000 have? I recently bought a minor wiith an aftermarket fuel pump that ran a regulator also could i just replace both with one of these? I have dual SU carbs and not trying to win a beuty contest with the little car.. just be functional http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Low-Pres ... 911.c0.m14 or one of these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cube-Sol ... ccessories here is the huge pump it has now...Image

Is the current pump in the boot or near the petrol tank.
All I can see is what looks like a pressure regulator/water trap that isn't connected to anything.
It is in the position I would expect to see an SU petrol pump.

Hello Peeweetps,

about 1 1\2 to 2 psi. Any more is likely to cause flooding.

That is the current fuel pump but being how it had an additional regulator I think it is too powerful

Low low pressure - the SU's don't like much pressure! Just test the delivery - if it manages to pump a pint in a minute - it will be fine.

would this pump be okay? DRY LIFT: 12 INCH,
STARTED AT 9V.
FLOW: 10GPH @ 9 V STARTED.
12v, FREE FLOW: 32 GPH
12V, FLOW: 23 GPH @ 2-3 PSI

INLET AND OUTLET THREAD SIZE: 1/8-27 NPTF

It's enough flow and pressure - but the 'dry lift' is not enough if you place it where the SU normally sits. However - if you position it on the engine bay floor - it should be ok.

The last link you sent (item 320422842385) looks like it is based on the original pump type.
I'd go with that one, mounted low as BMC suggests.

If the engine has a mechanical pump -use it!
