Jumping out of reverse

I'd never driven the 948 up until last week when i finally got it running and drove it out of the garage but my mum warned me that it may jump out of reverse, and sure enough it did.
Can anything be done? if not, as it is just reverse, is it worth changing the box?

Just leave it for now but plan to replace it later. It will start to effect first and second gear eventually and as you don't spend too much time going backwards it should last for a while longer.....

Not sure what can be done. But if it's only reverse my guess is it'll should be okay to drive for now at least. I'm sure someone with more knowledge than me (it isn't difficult  ) will be along soon as you well know :D

Question though... How did your mum know, is she psychic or something?

Just make sure there is plenty of oil in the box and look out for a better one, or budget for a recon box.

Exactly that! she's become quite the minor expert recently!
The car hasn't been on the road since before I passed my test so my parents have both had the pleasure of driving it to meetings and rallies and experiencing reverse!

Thanks for your replies, as far as I know the rest of the box is currently fine, the parents haven't said anything and my driveway isn't long enough for me to ever get past first! :D
