The bit about a Minor briefly establishing a new land speed record until it was realised the speedo was dodgy... could only have been writ by a moggy owner!MColes wrote:my favourite quote has to be
"Morris Minors came from the factory complete with an official BMC Calendar to aid the owner in measuring the car's 0-60 MPH time."

"Owners who lived in flat areas such as the English Fens or Holland could purchase cans of Brake Fade which allowed them to experience the true Morris Minor driving thrill."
"Sir Izzywizzy anticipated global warming in the design of the windscreen wipers, having optimised them for desert conditions"
Yes the writer obviously has had lots of experience with the minor, it may only be a joke article but it is very well written!

Very true! The cars are much loved by old people, who appreciate the lack of speed, inadequate brakes and pleasant fart from the exhaust at every gear change. They are, however, held in contempt by the owners of more modern cars, who have invented a new rule for the Highway Code - "You MUST, at any cost, be in front of any car that is older than yours".
A very amusing read, and obviously, at least in part, writen by somebody who knows Moggies.
Not sold in Central Scotland - due to brake and suspension mods!
I like it!! Did JLH write it - I wonder ????
Edit - Strongly suspect Ray !!

No two wings were ever made exactly the same size. This true reason for this is believed to be hidden in the Pyramids. Curious Shamens known as Fettlers, wielding ceremonial lump hammers and shrieking strange curses and making blood sacrifices are required to perform mystical dances to the gods of geometry before a wing may be successfully offered up.
What would Macgyver do..?

I'm glad someone appreciated that bit ;-)Its a shame though that somebody has removed the reference to "drinking Jack Daniels" whilst the car was being designed
Unfortunately the guy who removed it didn't get the joke!!
