locking petrol cap

Hi, does anyone know where i can get hold of a locking petrol cap? as everyone seems out of stock.
also can you fit a water tempture gauge to a 948 if so how do you go about it ( i have a smiths temp gauge all ready)

The locking petrol caps come up on e-bay regularly. There's one on there at the moment:

I am not that familiar with a 948 cylinder head if it will take a temp sensor.
If not then you will need a thermostat housing with a sensor adapter. If you fit a Smiths temp gauge to a 948 engine you will need the voltage stabaliser off the back of a 1098 speedo or the gauge wil not read correctly.
There are several posts on temp gauges under electrics. I suggest you read them as they will answer most of your questions

hi mike,the 948 head dosn't have the big nut near the thermostat housing as the 1098. i will look at the threads

The other way of fitting a sensor is to have a tapped hole put in the rad header tank as low as possible.

I think Midget stat housings have the sensor built into them.....?
