What should we be looking for?

We get our Moggie Saloon at the end of September for us to start restoring but there is a travelller just down the road we saw on the Forum in a scrap yard. The one we are getting is pretty well complete but we wondered if there is anything we should look for which we could strip from the car at the scrap yard that would be good to put by until we perhaps need it at a later date. it seems too good an opportunity to miss when it is only a few miles down the road.

Collect as many nuts and bolts you can find in useable order. The number of different fixings on a Minor is mind boggling!
Other parts I'd consider:
Suspension legs
Switchgear
Fuel tank sender
Fuel pump/control box/solenoid/wiper motor etc
steering wheel
indicator stalk
wheel trims
chrome & badges
Also check under the boot compartment for any nifty bits of repair/breakdown kit
Some of these items are age-specific so chech the years of the two cars. We can help with most queries.

Its easier to list what you won't need, just throw away anything that is rotten or broken and keep the rest if you have the space. If you don't need it yourself there is always someone who will take it off your hands.
If the upholstery in the traveller is any good you should not have a problem selling it on.
Be careful with safety related items such as suspension legs, check them carefully

Windscreen wiper motor/wiper arms. Dashboard switches. Steering wheel (if it isn't split)
