Boot handle

How can I tell which boot handle I need, I notice there are two types.
I'm replacing the boot lid on my 69 minor and I have found that the replacement lid I got from Ebay has differant centres for the fixing screws on the handle and also a differant pattern of cutouts.
Now basicaly I have one handle but two differant lids, neither of which are likely to be the originals. I will proabably need to order a new handle but I don't know which one, can somebody tell me which of the two handles has the two screws wider apart than the other, that way I can figure out which I need.

What sort of boot stays have the boots? You may have a series mm/II boot. The early boot handles had two exposed screw heads on the triangular plate.
Traveller and van handles are different to car handles.

Well it's hard to say because the car has a prop on the right hand side which initialy engaged into some drilled and tapped holes in the boot lid (well actualy two were d&t's the other was a self tapper). On the replacement lid there were no drilled and tapped holes only holes for self tappers. both of them seem to have a redundant bracket on the left which might have been a prop bracket at one time.
If it helps the replacement lid had no holes for the badges.

The early boot lids had a manual prop on the left side which stored in a clip on the right side of the boot lid and located in a bracket on the side of the boot opening. There were 2 holes for the reflector badge.
The later lids had a self propping stay which was fixed to the right side of the lid and boot opening. There were four holes for the Minor 1000 badges

It seems likely the replacement one is the early type then, it didn't have any holes for badges.
Thanks

All the early one's had 2 holes so I would guess it's an early boot lid that was DIY converted for a later car.
If you want additional confusion, ask about which type of boot seal is best...
