Silly topic alert!
OK let your hair down. What would be the best 'trouble shooting' modification on your Minor?
My suggestion (as mentioned elsewhere):
Under dash knob leading to a hinged, sprung-loaded rubber mallet above the fuel pump.

drip tray under the engine with a recirculating pump to put the oil back in the engine.

Right here goes
On the passenger door of an early 1000 there is no lock.
My suggestion is to cut an inch round hole in the outer door skin near the handle. Then fit one of those little peep hole covers like you see in the cartoons. This can be secured shut with a small padlock.
Now to open the passenger door all you need to do is undo the padlock, swing up the peephole cover and with a screwdriver or other long pointy stick 'flick' the lock switch to the 'up' position and Hey presto easy access to your passenger side without all that going around the other side nonsense.

Or use a locking hasp on the quarterlight? I don't think you'd want to glue it to the glass as it might fall off, so replace the glass with a steel plate and weld it on...

My other idea was to help park my recalcitrant Wipers.
I could drill a small hole in the glass at the bottom of the windscreen and poke a piece of string through. This is then tied to the Wiper arms and once you've turned the wipers off and they come to their natural resting place (about 1/3 of the way up the screen) you pull the string down and tie it off on the parcel shelf (like a window blind).
Just remember to undo the string next time you turn the wipers on. Or the sheer power of the standard wiper motor could bend the parcel tray

How about a gortex hood on a convertable?

5ft long sunblinds that can be used as 'shower deflectors' for a convertible.
Or
Lead weights fixed to the front rail on a convertible hood. When a shower occurs brake sharply and the hood automatically folds out.

Inflatable toolbox complete with mechanic, and of course a deckchair to supervise from while dealing with the drinking of the tea.

Hate to say it dan.... but I made something to catch the oil coming out of the rear scroll seal and there was an electric pump putting the oil back into the engine!

I had a cylinder, which contained pressurised oil from the engine, the idea being that when the ignition was turned on a solonoid was opened allowing the pressurised oil into the oilways (giving instant oil pressure) the solonoid was maintained open for a timed period so that the cylinder could be replenished with 'new oil pressure'
It wasn't a success as the cold oil was too thick to flow into the oilways quick enough!
The project continued no further!

The solution to that problem surely is to leave the ignition off whilst you turn the engine over on the starter motor.
It takes a lot of turning to stop my ends rattling when I start the engine
