Can anyone tell me where I can get hold of the silver screws that hold the chrome bezel to the back light units for a seriesII 1954 splitscreen Minor? Previous owner snapped them off and I,ve tried all the main dealers but no luck. Can anyone help?

Drill out and fit stainless I suspect!

Lucas used an odd sized thread for there parts so you had to buy genuine lucas parts. I was lucky enough to get a couple of these screws at last years national to replace the the forced in self tapers that a previous owner had fitted....
Carlo had good stainless replacments but they were metric and still had to be drilled out and tapped.

Lucas used a lot of BA stuff - including some odd-numbered ones, like 3BA and 5BA. They used BSB for things like foglamp mountings.
Has anyone measured any of these Lucas proprietary threads that David mentions?

I am fairly sure these are Whitworth threads - making them the only whitworth threads on the Minor.

I've just found my reference - its the original version of the MMOC tech tips manual - which states :-
"the series MM & early S11 rear lamps are held on by BSF Bolts, the internal bulb holder by 2BA screws & the lamp rims by 3/16 Whitworth screws"
You couldn't make it up could you

That covers most of the threads on one item, just missing metric threads (Series MM engine) and pipe threads.
