I can play embedded vids on sites like Youtube etc but everytime I try to download a vid clip file I loose my internet connection. Why?
Oh and no it hasn't got anything to do with family filters BTW, they're not that sort of movies.

Well I'm usually picking up links from other sites so...who knows really?
It doesn't flag up any security issues anyway. The last one was this eve. I was following up a link after talking about Napier Deltic engines. It's a realplayer file I downloaded first.

Hmm, sounds rather odd. I would offer to pop round and have a look but not sure I can help. Have you spoken to your ISP about it?

Maybe try using the free "youtube downloader" easily findable on a google search.
I've found it's the best way for me, as I'm on a slowish connection with a monthly MB limit. I don't even have to start the video I want to download. I right-click on the video I want, on the listings page, and left-click 'properties'. Then I copy the url and paste it into "youtube downloader" - actually the programme pastes it in for you as soon as you cover the pasting-in box with the mouse.
If you try it and see '&feature' at the end of the url in 'properties', drop the '&' and anything after it.
A great benefit is that you can quickly build up a list for multiple downloads and put them in a Notepad document, then download them at your leisure. Once you have the urls, you don't even have to have "Youtube" open, which is a great MB saving for people with a monthly limit.
