Unless you are in to concours go with radials. They are cheaper than cross plies and do wonders for the Minor's roadholding and handling

I think theres just two makes available now, the Dunlops (as originally fitted) and the Excelsior brand (much cheaper than the Dunlops) , so its just a case of comparing prices and convenience of suppliers. The three you mention are the main suppliers of old style tyres so up to you really.
Yes radials are much better for daily use or lots of mileage, but crossplies look better for show use especially on earlier cars. New crossplies aren't half as bad as the ancient ones that we've all experienced and actually grip reasonably well. Radials FEEL much more surefooted and chuckable though.
My 53 convertible has radials on it as it does lots of miles (daily use at the mo), but the 2 MM projects will probably get crossplies as they will have a more sheltered life...

I would say radials would be much safer but then again I doubt most owners would be throwing their morris minors above the 70 mph mark!

I have a selection of good part worn crossplies for my two MMs but (although I prefer the look of crossplies - especially on early cars) I do agree that radials feel (and perform) better for everyday use on a 948/1098
