Invisible sound proofing. Now all revealed.

Well can anyone spot my 'invisible' method of reducing wind noise on my MGB.
I kid you not it works and its pretty well invisible and cost next to nothing!
With this and the sound deadening it is strangely quiet in the cockpit.
The clue is that it's something to do with wind noise.
I'm very pleased with how unobtrusive it is!

Well, Roger, apart from parking in the garage out of the wind, I guess its putting the clip-on mirror down low, so with the window wound down a bit your ears are shielded directly by the glass from its turbulence! MikeN.
(PS Done any more noise measurements?)

Not that mike.
It can be fitted in a few minutes and removed in seconds without any tools.
I'm down to 90 dB at 70 mph now that is about a 15dB improvement overall which is a lot quieter.

It's ear plugs that you're wearing when driving.

If it's now 'down to' 90 dBa- you should still be wearing hearing protection! Ear plugs or ear defenders - 85 dBa is the supposed 'safe' limit these days ! I really can't imagin it's THAT noisy - my TR7 open or closed is nowhere near that level. At that level it should be be very difficult to hear what another person is saying unless they shout - and although my wife does shout at me a lot - she certainly doesn't need to in the TR7 ! I can hear her complaining about draughts/raining (ie stop and put the top up)/too fast etc etc quite easily.

Dan is very close it's something to do with the gutters. Look Very hard at the very end of the gutter at the front. I think this might work on a minor, but it would be better on a mini!

OK here it is I've squeezed transparent PVC tube into the gutters It has stopped the wind noise and I'm glad you couldn't spot it! I popped the bottom bit out so you can see it.
What do you think - would it work on a minor?

I've only used the meter on my phone, when I get back to work I'll check its calibration - I have to admit it doesn't seem that loud. However the important point is that its 15 dB quieter than it was before
