IMHO its bull muck. There is no way in heck that that conrod and gudgeon pin could be going up and down in there without bashing the bore to heck.

. I don't see how something like that could go undetected. A friend has a VW Type 2 camper and that kept going when one of the pistons had gone (I think the crown had separated). Once he got it home, it was repaired.
