Traveller wood removal

Hi, I am looking to remove this bit of my travs wood. How does it come out and is it glued in ??? I need to remove it to do a repair on the B post and then refit the wood. The wood itself is in good condition and the ordinal piece so I would like to refit it. Cheers hope someone can help..
