Can anyone help a friend of mine with identifying this part and its function? It is fitted to a Rover V8 engine which is installed in a Stag....

Pic 1 What is this part, what does it do? Can it be disconnected?

Pic 2 The item in pic 1 controls this relay. What does this control?

not that clear in the pics is the electrovalve connected to the fuel pressure regulator vac pipe? (could be a mixture richening device) & are there any other pipes coming out of it if so where do they go

Mogwai, yes, the valve is connected to the pressure reg and operates via vacuum. The other vac pipe, I believe to be connected to the manifold.

Thanks Pete - I'll pass the link on to him.....

Aah is that a pressure switch which operates the relay or an electrovalve which is operated by the relay
