Hello all, I have fitted a modern cd player in the glovebox of my 68 minor, it takes its constant and switchable supplies from the fuse box. Someone suggested i should also fit an inline fuse between the fusebox and stereo. Will the fuses in box be sufficient and if not do i fit the inline fuse to the switchable or constant? It works fine just dont want to take any chances.

Hi singleton, does the stereo not have a fuse in the back of it? i thought most modern ones had an inbuilt fuse...

Most, not all
The kenwood unit from the fiesta that was new in 2003 certainly doesn't have a fuse in the rear
IMHO its worth having a seperate fuse for anything that you add into the car. For that reason I have 2 additional fuse boxes - one for switched, one for non switched

The fuse in the back of the radio (if fitted) will usually only blow if there are shorts or faults within the radio itself - best to fit an in line fuse to the constant supply at the very least....
