Driving into Haverfordwest yesterday afternoon, a Morris Minor went past me on the way to St David's. I didn't get a proper look, because it was exiting the roundabout as I went onto it, but it looked like it had a lowered suspension.

Anyone know who was likely to be driving it?

Also today in Pembroke Dock Asda (!) I saw this van parked. It has been beautifully restored. I would call it faultless as far as I could judge it.

One interesting feature. The windows in the doors were etched with a car index number presumably as a security feature - it wasn't the van's number though!

It was PXE 107F, on both windows!
Image
So the van's owner has changed the colour to green without telling DVLA?

Perhaps this was the first outing after restoration?

Does the enquiry suggest that the car which donated the windows, which at that stage had a 1275cc engine, has now gone the way of all flesh... or metal?

Our van's got etched glass too Ondergard, and although all the numbers are the same, they don't match the van either - I guess if you need to change the glass and it all comes from the same source that's what happens!

And if the date of liability is '2000' it sounds like PXE 107F has shuffled off.....

Well, I did say "as far as I could judge it" and by that I mean it looked faultless to me - but I'm no concours judge (obviously). To be honest, Ray, I wouldn't have spotted the lack of gutters if you hadn't pointed it out!

Have to say - that van looks all the better for 'missing' it's guttering!
People spend hours and hours removing the guttering from Minis !
Has anyone done a 'gutterless' Minor saloon ??

Is my memory correct that you were/are selling your van? Don't you use it in your business, delivering something or other, or have I mixed you up with someone else?

On the van bonnet there is a badge where the "Minor 1000" badge is on a saloon.

Someone's just donated an LCV bonnet to me and there are no holes on it for any badges on the side, just the usual front holes. Is that normal?

Are you thinking of the one for sale in Cornwall? Wasn't it a pickup? Can't remember the couple's names (terrible with names).
