I am looking at buying a traveler it has just had the bodywork resprayed and the engine and gearbox rebuilt the only problem is that the wood is compleatly roted away hase anyone ever replaced the wood with fiberglass or maby know of some other replacement for the wood as it is quite expensive and I could do without the constant maintanance of wood if so are there any kits available and if so from where

The Ash Framework is an integral part of the strength of the car and as such should be replaced with the same a full kit is around £1,000.
The was a Traveller produced with a fibreglass timber lookalike frame but it did not go into prodution because of various problems.
The other problem with fibreglass is fixing to it things like the rear wings window runners and things of that nature, its obviously possible but at what sort of cost and how good a fabricator would you have to be.
I am also surprised the owner went to the bother of having the car overhauled mechanically & resprayed while he still had poor timberwork as it would have failed an MOT from your desription, and as such the car is not worth much, even if it has got an MOT.
