My days in the garage might just be numbered :o Following my job with Accenture ending at the end of last year I have been shortlisted by the NHS for one of the Management roles running the Swine Flu Information Center. They will have 180 people answering telephones :o :o

Obviously haven't got the job yet but the interview is on Friday - can I ask you to keep fingers crossed for me :D :D

If I do get it I will certainly miss playing Miss Apprentice Mechanic

remember to wash your hands on arrival. If you do sneeze, remember to catch it in a tissue and put it the bin and then insist on washing your hands immediately but get someone else to open the door on your way to the toilet to avoid risk of cross contamination...

(we just had the new policy booklet at work - sheesh what a load of dreams they have!)

Can you begin to imagine what this bunch of people on the end of a telephone might actually say :o If I get the job at least you can all just ask me and I'll be able to tell you how to wash your hand properly

And there was me thinking that it was all about "Pigs Might fly" (Swine flew). One of our customers is a GP and he is of the opinion that it isn't that different from any other type of influenza (In the great scheme of things).

My grandmother's eldest brother died in the First World War. He was a US serviceman, having emmigrated and I know that more US soldiers died from inluenza (I think it was called Spannish Flu) than in battle. That is what we always understood had happened to him but years later we found that his gravestone says "Killed in Action".

The doctor said that this particular flu, like all others, is only life threatening when added to other ailments. He said that it is probable that more young people have contracted it, because they tend to frequent crowded places like clubs.

Good luck for Friday.....lets hope its a short term posting....though I am thinking of the greater good here.

Ive just been fitted with a mask in work and we have to carry aprons, j suits and put disposable masks on patients too!!! To fit the mask you put your head in big bag thing and they spray a nasty smelling stuff in, then you put on the mask and thay do it all again and you shouldnt be able to smell the spray. Great fun.

Good luck with the interview :D

The interview went well and he ended up asking me if I'd take the job there and then! I think he was worried I might go away and think about it never to return. Well that's it then - no more time off. Go Live Monday at 8am with about 200 people answering telephones - that'll take a bit of organising:-)

Thanks everyone for your good luck wishes (I think!) Have to start tomorrow to help organise training :o
Image
You might get a shot of Tamiflu.
Not sure if this is more beneficial than having had and recovered from Swine flu though.
