Lo, the favourite is the good old MINI but don't
forget to obtain the rear mounting bracket.

I know it's an old chestnut, but I've lost the Minor Matters in question! I want to fit an alternator so I need.... The rear bracket as well...anything else? I already have an amp meter fitted to the Morris. Can I leave that on? I know with an alternator fitted it's unlikely to be of any use, but will it do any harm?

Lo, the ammeter will be as useful as it is
with the original dynamo BUT to read the
amperage the ammeter has to be in SERIES with
the battery supply. This is not good practice
when an Alternator is fitted because, should
one of the ammeter leads become disconnected
while the engine is working it will cause the Alternator to 'burn out',I e. it will stop working! The easy answer is to replace the ammeter with a BATTERY VOLTS guage.
This does not have to be in series with the
supply
and removes the possibility of ruining the
Alternator should a lead become disconnected
but will fill the hole for the ex-ammeter!!
