Hi
I have mini telescopics on the back of my traveller and want to improve ride and towing. What would you recommend replacing the mini ones with?
Also - can moggie spax's (adjustable) be fitted instead of mini telescopics?
Thanks
Steve

DAMPERS - not 'shockers' - perlease!!
Mini tele dampers are indeed too weak - and too short - to be used on a Minor. My suggestion - go back to the standard lever arm dampers - there is NOTHING wrong with them - fill them with SAE 40 oil - and your damping will be fine !
If you want to tow anything with a significant nose weight -you will probably need to raise the rear of the car - possibly add stronger springs at the rear!

Hi Steve well there are not really moggie spax as most of the tele's used are from other cars and the mini ones are an improvement over the lever arms anyway, the best ones are those that use a turret welded into the floor so that they are mounted upright, if you have the type that is mounted to a u shaped channel that runs across the floor inspect it very closely as over time they are prone to crack the floor.
Also I have not come across the mini front teles being too short in use when fitted correctly and they make a heck of a differernce where I live as we have some mountainous speed ramps that the lever arms struggle to cope with.

Kevin - Mini suspension movemnt is very much less than Minor movement. Mini dampers are bound (!) to be limiting the suspension travel.
