Come along to the London south\central branch (meets at the Telegraph Putney)
Address here:http://www.viewlondon.co.uk/pubsandbars ... 13617.htmlThere are a few tinkerers including me.
Unfortunately I don't live that side of London.

Shame you're so far away from Cornwall, pretty much all I seem to do is tinker about with cars! (All seems to be welding at the moment.....) :D

Ahh thank you guys. Lol alzax, maybe I should move to Cornwall or take a vacation there, so many people around there and around Plymouth playing with cars! Definitely Kevin, I love to help out and pass on what I know where I can! MarkyB, Putney is not so far, when do people meet at the Telegraph?

Cheers!

I think they still meet at 8pm on the first wednesday of every month. Click on the 'Branches' link to the left of this page. There are a couple of branches in the Surrey area too.

LouiseM is spot on, first Wednesday of the month it is.
Don't know if you will find anyone who will actually do work on your car but no shortage of advice :) .
There was someone advertising on Gumtree local to the area who said he had 40 years experience but he doesn't seem to be very communicative when I asked where he was based before.

I prefer to work on things myself, that's the best way to learn, and then I get a better understanding of things, but it's good to spanner and think things through with other people and help out.

I don't mind helping others work on their cars with the spanner in their hands, that's how you help others learn! Mainly, I want to work on cars with other people and chat about them instead of doing it on my own all the time!
