Plug Colour

Just fitted a new coil, dizzy cap, rotor and silicon leads. An amazing difference to starting and performance!

Still checking the mixture. After fitting new ignition parts went for a 20 minute spin then pulled plugs. What do you think of the colour? To me it looks a little lean:

You can see from the sooty surround that it has been too rich in the past, but what do you think the tip colour tells now?

It's the insulator colour that matters - looks spot-on to me for decent running and good economy. Sometimes 2/3 are a bit different to 1/4 - which bore did this come from ?

This was cylinder 1. I plan to have a really good run tomorrow and check all of them

You should also do a 'full throttle' check - run the car flat out up a hill as long as possible - then shut off the ignition and coast to a halt. Check plugs under these conditions.
