Buying Spanners

Ordered some tappet spanners [1/4" Whit] yesterday and they arrived today. £1.30 each.

All you need now is a 18G 270 valve spring compressor, and a sense of humour!!

At least the Morris 8E had a handy little inspection panel under the front wing - in the inner wing - that could be removed to give quite good access to the valve chest!

Dont forget, try not to lean on the rad while adjustment is in progress - I broke mine!

Hi Squiggle
Don't forget I think it may be easier to hang from the rafters when adjusting the valves on a side valve let us all know if successful as i have not tried myself yet

Ha ha. Hanging from the rafters might be fun as long as someone helps me down afterwards!

I found a much easier way to do it............

...........someone else might be doing it............

Going along the path of least resistance. Or something like that.

Relieved that it is nothing worse than a burnt out exhaust valve.
