This method of testing the temperature guage accuracy is only advisable early in the morning, before 'er indoors wakes up and realises where the kettle has gone

I'm guessing you must have an alternator cos my old dynamo would never have boiled a full kettle. ;)

Honestly- I hadn't had time to clean the kettle up by the time you got there, was a bit panicky about 'er indoors finding it oily!!
