Running on 3 cylinders!

Car in local garage! Wasn't only petrol pump points that need attention.
Running on 3 cylinders. Compression check [100 85 110 50] suggests head should come off for inspection.
Ran so well to and fro the Hatfield rally on Sunday.
Thanks Cam so much for you phone advice and moral support.
Garage not really familiar with sidevalve engine so I have left the workshop manual with them.
If the head is being removed, does it make sense to replace the head gasket and valves as a matter of course? Actual mileage 92000
Garage said the lead substitute I use might not be doing it's job in protecting the valves. I'll have to check which products are thought to be the best.
They also said they are wary of fitting new parts [in this case valves] in an old engine as it could affect other worn parts in an adverse way. Any ideas on this please? Sort of makes sense.
Monsoon weather and car's gonna be outside for a week while they find time to work on it. Seems they bill me for less hours this way.

Pressure at cylinder 4 now zero!
MANY thanks Dr Rust and JLH for advice and encouragement.
Signs n symptoms look towards valve problem [hopefully] but need to take a peep.
Does anyone know where I can get a head gasket for my Series MM sidevalve engine please? Needed asap.
ESM have them on order but don't expect them to arrive until a few weeks time.
Thanks

one tip that is used on Stag v8 engines... (very common for their heads to stick on)
Feed some nylon string down the spark plug holes, and turn the crank by hand. eventually you get enough string in there that it pushes the head up on compression stroke.

I hope at those prices that is for a CA250 head gasket set, not just the head gasket. There are different quality head gaskets, hang on whilst I go out to the garage and take a couple of photos.
I have just found a website for Gaskets for Classics Ltd,
www.gasketsforclassics.co.uk They advertise Series MM gasket sets

1st Gasket, beware Morris 8 gasket. Water passage to rear of distributor drive hole, no water passages either side. This one looks as though it is made from cardboard<br>

2nd Gasket, Poor quality, no seam around the edges or around water passages, stud holes are a poor fit<br>

Thank again guys. This is a wonderful learning experience.
When asked Club Spares why difference in price he said he was quoting for 2 [?]
He asked if Bull Motif [see post above] were quoting for two and , if so, he should charge more.
All I asked for was the price on 1 HG!
How can things get this muddled?
Not sure what type of HG Club Spares are offering. Will check. Wish he had an email address n could attach images.
Hope to order some tappet spanners today.
Onwards and upwards eh?

Sorry for the muddle.
